From now until January 29, 2012 the Rotonda di via Besana in Milan will host the exhibition “Drawing and Design – Italian patents and creativity” produced by Fondazione Valore Italia and the Ministry of Economic Development and promoted by the Department for Culture, Expo, Fashion and Design of the Municipality of Milan.

The exhibition aims to present in a new light the value of Italian creativity applied to industrial production, and the importance of correct protection of industrial property to maintain the competitiveness of the Italian economic and industrial system on the international markets. The exhibition features hundreds of patents, drawings and trademarks – kept in the State Archives and at the Italian Patent and Trademark Office – which testify to the evolution and expansion of Italian creativity over the last hundred years. Visitors follow a stimulating route through the patent documents, some of the products resulting from them and a wide-ranging selection of vintage advertising posters used to promote the products on the market.
